Tennessee Educator Fellowship
Jul 10, 2019 - May 9, 2020
Application Deadline: Feb 26, 2019
Eligibility Requirements: 3+ Years experience
The Tennessee Educator Fellowship brings together a diverse group of educators from across the state who are passionate about their profession and student-focused education policy. The fellowship empowers participating educators to weigh in on policy conversations at the state and local level that affect their schools, their colleagues, and their students. Fellows learn, share, and provide a voice for educators and students across the state as well as serve as advocates in their own regions.
As the fellowship enters its sixth year, SCORE will select approximately 30 Tennessee public school teachers, interventionists, librarians, and school counselors to serve one-year terms. The Fellows will learn about, reflect upon, inform, and advocate for policies, practices, and systems that impact educator effectiveness and student achievement while continuing in their roles during the 2019-20 school year. Fellows initiate and complete advocacy activities in support of student-focused priorities. Examples include speaking at public forums, building networks of educators, meeting with policymakers, and writing advocacy pieces for publication. Fellows will be chosen from varying subjects, grade levels, and geographic regions across Tennessee. Each Fellow will be awarded a $5,000 stipend for their work.
If you are a current K-12 public school teacher, librarian, interventionist, or school counselor in Tennessee with at least three years of experience by May 2019 and want to serve as a 2019-20 Tennessee Educator Fellow, complete the online application by Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at 11:59 PM CT.
